Girls Rush - Lloyd Clarke

To my knowledge Lloyd Clarke did not release any LPs of his work so here is a unique opportunity to hear one of the foundation artists of JA music.
Here’s a compilation I’ve been meaning to do for a long time & finally got round to it.
“Girls Rush” featuring one of my favourite Ska Stars Lloyd Clarke, of course I don’t have a picture of Lloyd nor hardly any info about him .In Dave Katz’ “Solid Foundation” the only mention of Lloyd is in relation to Lester Sterling’s first foray into Studio One where he thinks a vocal was being put down by Lloyd, but to my knowledge Lloyd didn’t record for Dodd .No mention in “Rough Guide” or “People Funny Boy” so the only other piece of info I have comes from the sleeve notes of “Trench Town Ska” in which its noted that Lloyd used to stay with Theo Beckford & didn’t have a day job because he only liked to sing ,well I for one am glad about that because I think he has a very distinctive voice

Thanks very much for this. As a long time ska fan it was a complete surprise to me to find a new name and voice last year when I chanced across a short snippet of 'Summertime', since when I have been seeking out Lloyd Clarke tracks. He should get more recognition for his body of work.
It's great that you have featured him here.
