Musical Excursion - Lizzy

With enough soul to make a fish sneeze & a fly get down on his knees, Lizzy with his spar Dennis Alcapone became the first DJ Duo years before Michigan & Smiley but as Dennis went on to greater things Lizzy’s less smooth delivery didn’t quite excite the crowds and as such the tracks on this CD comprise the bulk of his recorded work if you know of others plese let me know

There’s Ska from around 1964 from Charlie Organaire & from the Ska Kings who are actually Byron Lee & The Dragonaires with Eric Morris on lead vocal but listen out for Toots Hibbert on background vocals you can hear his voice soaring above everyone just after the instrumental break.
Johnny & The Attractions treat us to some sublime rocksteady & Lloyd Charmers recuts Sir Collins Rocksteady as Dread Man Special you’ll find some DJ cuts (of course!!) some Lovers Rock from Ginger Williams and some nice vocals from two Campbells , Al & Cornel right up to some Roots from Half Pint from around 1985.
